PORTER ROBINSON - HISTORY, TORONTO
I first heard Porter Robinson on BBC Radio 1, when his Essential Mix stopped me cold. It wasn’t just a set, it felt like a fully formed world, and I quickly became obsessed. That mix lived with me during my years editing photos at Muzique and other nightclubs in Montreal, soundtracking long, solitary nights in dark rooms lit by computer screens. His music became part of my process, shaping the atmosphere in which I learned, worked, and quietly evolved. Ten years later, being in Toronto with a camera in my hands, photographing the same artist who once filled my headphones felt surreal—not simply a career milestone, but a personal one. A rare moment where the past and present briefly shared the same frame.
Also fun fact! Did you know Porter Robinson actually co-wrote/produced Zedd’s megahit ‘Clarity’?
