TOVE LO - HISTORY, TORONTO

Habits” by Tove Lo sits firmly in my top five songs of all time. Few tracks capture the ache of heartbreak—and the self-destructive behavior that often follows—with such brutal clarity. I still remember driving overnight from Montreal to Ottawa with it at full volume, alone on the highway, completely overtaken by the song and in awe of how someone could articulate that feeling so precisely. Years later, photographing Tove Lo live in Toronto became one of the genuine highlights of my life. When she performed “Habits,” I felt it immediately… goosebumps, the same weight, the same reminder of why that song never left me.
